This Is My 100th Post and We're Talkin...

...bathrooms! Somehow that strikes me as funny. You would think I could come up with something a little more profound but honestly looking at the headlines just overwhelms me. There is just so much happening at once! All I can say on that one is everyone better be watching and praying. To say that end time prophecy doesn't matter is to totally disregard much of what God has laid out in His Word. As a parent we do our best to prepare and guide our own children for something they have not experienced. Why do so many people feel so scared to think God would do the same? So many folks either listen to ANYONE proclaiming knowledge on the subject OR they run at the first mention of it. Have you heard the pan out theory? I believe it will all "pan out" in the end. I just do not believe that is how God wants us to look at it. But back to my bathroom. The FisherMan finished up in there and it looks so much better! He cleaned all the mildew up and removed all the old caulking. The...

Something is Terribly Wrong

My bloggy friend Lorrie has a post up with a link to a news story that just riles me up. You can read the story here . A child with autism was arrested for...oh, horrors!...exhibiting autistic behaviors! Behaviors that were exaggerated by the teacher's actions. Those of you with access to my private family blog know that I have the autism awareness background on it. Is there any wonder why we need to bring awareness to this subject? People what are we becoming? When we reach the point of arresting children? Something is terribly wrong. When our President can go on the Tonight Show and nonchalantly use the Special Olympics as a way to make light of his bowling game as though the participants were something to gawk at, a joke? Something is terribly wrong. When we can casually abort a baby and state a birth "defect" as justifiable cause? Something is terribly wrong. You know, we live in a time where our quest for automatic self indulgence is overridden by only one thing whi...

Just had to add...

Ok so I know I already said what a great time we had at church today. But I had to hop on here and say we also had a wonderful time tonight! Our Ladies Class is such a blessing to me. We have some awesome women who love the Lord and I am blessed to have them in my life. Tonight's song service was good too, complete with testimonies that reminded us that God's people are still serving Him after all. And He loves His children enough to show us! So.... "Let Others See Jesus In You!!!"

What's In Your Heart?

It's been a wonderful day in the Lord today! Today being the 5th Sunday in the month means that we had the Lord's Supper at church followed by a fellowship meal and tonight we will have 5th Sunday singing. Sometimes we have a group or individual perform a concert and sometimes we just have old fashioned congregational singing. Tonight it will be our congregation making a joyful noise. Nothing fancy but there is something sweet, simple and comforting about coming together to worship in song. The GuitarMan was disappointed he would not be here. He is on Spring Break and vacationing down in South Florida. I think he wanted to bring his guitar and do a few songs. But maybe next time. The FisherMan had a great sermon this morning which made the point that "head religion" is not enough. Beliefs must penetrate the heart to be effective. Just knowing about Jesus is not the same as knowing Him. I wonder how many of us are allowing Jesus to fully penetrate our hearts. What othe...

Catching Up With Each Other

So, life has been a bit chaotic lately but what's new? :o) I thought I would share a little from different areas of our life. Wanna chat with me for a while and play catch up? In no particular order, here goes: In the Kitchen: With soccer going on in a different town we have been on the go way too much. Tonight was supposed to be the last game but it was canceled. Naturally we found out when we got to the field and no one else was there! I am looking forward to being home and having more home cooked meals. I am thinking about those summer comfort foods....fresh peas with cornbread, fried okra, sliced tomatoes, macaroni and cheese, maybe make some homemade ice cream. Mmmmm! Which leads me to the garden: The FisherMan loves to garden and has over one hundred seedlings started. He won't be able to put that many out but what a great start! If everything produces we will have squash, tomatoes, okra, hot peppers, bell peppers and peas. It isn't a huge garden spot, but it's en...

I Do

How are you doing on the laundry at your house? Well, I am fighting a never-ending battle here! :) We are either very clean people or some nasty folks, I'm not sure! I never catch up even though I am constantly washing and drying clothes. But I try to use it as a time of focusing on my sweet family in prayer. Do you ever do that? Here is what I mean. When I wash the children's clothes I might pray: thanking God for sending me children to raise for Him, asking for wisdom and strength to do the job right, praying for their futures that they will love the Lord and serve Him, praying for their future spouses and children...just whatever comes to mind. It also is a good time to pray for anything that might be going on right then such as training issues with the little ones or problems I may know about in my oldest son's life. Today I washed the FisherMan's clothes. I use the time to pray for him as well but today I had to smile as I cleaned out his pockets. It told so much a...

Just Life Around Here

Lots to do today. But I have a little guy in my lap that needs a nap and doesn't seem to realize just how much I could accomplish if he would lay down! Oh, he is napping but every time I attempt to lay him down that sweet little head pops up and he begins to cry. Then as soon as I pick him up, down it goes and he is back asleep! He occasionally gets that way where he wants what he wants. Namely, hold me while I sleep! I have gotten to where I can "read" his moods and tell whether it is best to do what it takes to get the sleep in him or just let it go and not worry about the nap. Oh, I know some folks who freak out over this kind of thing. Afraid of spoiling and all that jazz. But I don't worry. After all, we're not talking about an everyday, normal thing here. And before I know it he will be too busy to snooze in Mama's arms! So I just try to not sweat it. It falls under the category of "small stuff." As for the to-do list....oh, my it's a doozi...
