I Asked Questions.....

.....just not the right ones! So have any of you other moms ever finished cleaning your child's plate when they are done? You know, that whole "hate to see it go to waste" thing? Well! From one mother to another: Ask the right questions next time LOL! Today I made little mini pizzas for lunch. (Really yummy....use English muffins, jarred pizza sauce, and your choice of toppings) So the girls ate in the living room with the guys and I stayed in the kitchen to feed Cornbread. I hated to eat any because I wanted to be sure all the kids got enough and that there would be enough for The FisherMan when he came in for lunch. When LadyBug finished she brought me her plate and I asked her if she was finished. She thought for a minute and said she was. Well, there was this perfect little bitesize piece of pizza left with a crispy little slice of pepperoni and 2 black olives on her plate. I said, "Are you sure you don't want your black olives?" (they love those) She he...

Update and Catch-up

Thanks to everyone who prayed for Lucas and his family. He is going to be released from the hospital. The MRI was clear but there is a lot of severe bruising. He is still in much pain so I would ask that you continue to pray for him. As I said before, God can use everything to His glory so I would love it if you would also pray that He would use this accident in just such a way for this family. As for our family, well yesterday was one of those slow and easy days that seemed to just drift along. Yet somehow it also turned out to be a very productive day! The FisherMan was working, of course. The boys slept in, catching up on their rest after the weekend. The children and I played outside in the morning. That afternoon the rain rolled in so we snuggled in the rocker and read books. I thought they might slip into a catnap but it didn't happen. I did, however, manage to make myself sleepy! I would doze off mid-sentence, only to have them nudge me, saying, "What happens next?...

Update on Lucas

Thank you all for praying! The CAT scan showed no broken bones. Despite that he is in an incredible amount of pain. And this guy has a very high tolerance to pain! It was hard to see him like that and especially hard to see him try to move. An MRI was done today but we haven't heard the results of that. So keep praying for relief and healing but also especially that he will see the Lord throughout this. Continue to pray for his wife and his children. They have a boy and a girl who are very close in age with our girls. Thank you again.

Urgent Prayer Request

We were invited to eat lunch with a family from church today. So we had a great meal followed by relaxed conversation. Some other folks came in while we were there. It was the husband (Lucas) and the father of our children's SS teacher. They were still there when we left. Everyone rested for a while when we got home. Then about 15 minutes before church we got a call. Lucas had been hurt and they were waiting for an ambulance. He and his father-in-law were at a pond and there was a rope. The way I understand it Lucas was swinging on it and hit the water in such a way that he was badly injured. In fact, had his father-in-law not been there to get him out he would have drowned. It was reported earlier that he had broken his right arm and had possibly broken his neck. Cat scan results show no broken bones in his neck but he is experiencing severe swelling in his neck around his spinal cord and up into his head. The FisherMan just called a few minutes ago and he is now being transport...

Meant For Each Other

Yesterday we were outside talking and FlowerChild jumped into the conversation. (I know that is just SO surprising!) She said,"Mommy, Daddy is the perfect husband for you. And Daddy, Mommy is the perfect wife for you." Isn't that just so sweet to hear your child say something like that? Sometimes it's just best to not make things too meaningful though. In the next breath (As I'm thinking "Aww, that is just precious" and trying not to tear up) she said, "Well, you both DO wear glasses so you sorta match." Oh, well take what you can get! :)

OK I Know I Speak Southern But Come On!

I would think after 25 years of marriage The FisherMan would understand anything I said. Apparently not! This afternoon we took a stroll with the children over to the church. As we walked along we got to talking about the different views on annointing with oil. Don't ask me how! Now here is what I said. "So they are saying that the oil is nothing but doctoring." Here is what he heard. "So they are saying that the oil is nothing but doctrine." So began a series of misunderstanding similar to the whole "who's on first" fiasco! "No they don't think it is sound doctrine!" "Doctrine? No, no doctoring!" "Doctrine?" " OH, doc-ter-ing! Ing! Ing!" Oh, well at least I keep things interesting for him! :)
