I Asked Questions.....

.....just not the right ones!

So have any of you other moms ever finished cleaning your child's plate when they are done? You know, that whole "hate to see it go to waste" thing? Well! From one mother to another:
Ask the right questions next time LOL!

Today I made little mini pizzas for lunch. (Really yummy....use English muffins, jarred pizza sauce, and your choice of toppings) So the girls ate in the living room with the guys and I stayed in the kitchen to feed Cornbread. I hated to eat any because I wanted to be sure all the kids got enough and that there would be enough for The FisherMan when he came in for lunch. When LadyBug finished she brought me her plate and I asked her if she was finished. She thought for a minute and said she was.

Well, there was this perfect little bitesize piece of pizza left with a crispy little slice of pepperoni and 2 black olives on her plate. I said, "Are you sure you don't want your black olives?" (they love those) She hesitated for a minute as she headed out the door and said, "Uuummmm, noooo, I'm done." I said, "Ok, if you're sure" and turning to the sink, popped the pizza and olives in my mouth.

As she went back down the hallway she said, "It's ok. They fell on the floor anyway."

Blech! :)

  3. Mary,
Hey, I laughed too...it was too funny to even be embarrassed, I had to share. LadyBug's timing was priceless. I imagine if you could have seen my face and how quickly I spit that pizza out, you would have really laughed! :)

  4. Speaking of cleaning carpets... what kind of cleaner do you have. I have been thinking about looking into buying one, but have no clue, any suggestions.

Oh, and yes, I do clean the plates, and will admit that I have actually (by accident) eaten prechewed food before!! Hey you gotta eat when you can and sometimes it means grazing off the kids leftovers :).

  5. 3 Lil' Chickadees,
ROFL I'm so glad I'm not the only one!

I have a Bissell Proheat 2X carpet cleaner. I have had it for several years now. It has been used a lot so it is showing some wear now but I like it.It is an upright but also has the hose so you can do spot cleaning or upholstery.

I used to always buy the cleaning solution. But even the store brands get pricey when you are on a budget. Since I started making my own it has been much easier to clean when I get ready. No more waiting to buy cleaning solution! I just use a spray for pre-treating stains and then steam clean as usual.

  7. Angela,
Yeah, I caught myself last night. She had a piece of crust on her plate and I took a bite, thought, oh, no!, THEN said wait and asked her, "Has this been on the floor?" LOL At least I thought about it though! I'll admit even when she said no, just the fact that she had to hesitate and think about it was enough for me to not eat anymore of the crust!

The Season of Pregnancy (updated)

I know. I have been neglecting this blog. Horribly. That's not the only thing that has been thrown by the wayside lately! It is only for a season though. Pregnancy means you must be patient with yourself and accept that sometimes you must let things slide. That also means that you have to plan in order to conserve your energy. I know if I am going somewhere later today then I don't need to rush around and try to get a lot done in the morning. Priorities must be in order. Although the morning sickness is better it isn't totally gone at this point. Whoever named it that anyway? The main thing I have been dealing with is fatigue. My blog shows it. My laundry shows it. My house shows it. Ack, everywhere shows it! I simply do not have the energy to do the bending up and down required to truly clean up, do laundry, and the vacuuming/sweeping etc. It's quite depressing actually! So I do a little here, do a little there. I manage the necessities such as homeschooling, cooking,

Need Prayers

Yesterday I went to my regular doctor's appt. They could not find the baby's heartbeat. Ultrasound showed that for reasons that are simply unknown right now, the baby has died. If I do not deliver on my own by Monday, then I will be induced. We know that God has a purpose in every life, no matter how short. Right now, there are a jumble of feelings. I'm sure the coming days will be no different. We went to my son and told him in person. He came on home as he wants to be here for all of us, particularly FlowerChild, as she leans on him so much. We haven't told the girls yet as we just aren't sure how to handle that at this point. Today in the South the snow is falling and they feel like it is Christmas. I would rather let them have that and watch their delight as they play. It's not important when they find out so much as it is that I find the right way to tell them. I will probably come at it from the direction of a premature birth or that the baby is sick. Th

Latest on GuitarMan

I haven't made a practice of sharing photos with a full facial view on here. However the GuitarMan isn't too worried about that LOL! With many of you praying for him I thought you might like to have an idea of who he is. He is still in a lot of pain. His fingers are all black and blue and his entire hand is swollen. His hand is cut straight across his fingers and across the bottom of his hand. Once again, very obvious what could have happened. He's blown away by everyone caring and checking in him and the prayers on his behalf. He says to thank you all!
