Vbs is completed!

Whew! What a wonderful week it has been! I managed to lead the music successfully, thanks be to the Lord. It sure wasn't me! I loved the songs in this VBS. The lyrics were simply outstanding! The movements included a lot of dance and sign language. Sunday is Homecoming and we are going to do one of the songs "What We're Here For" during worship service. The choir will sing it while I do the movement.

Tomorrow is Clean Up Day, Sunday is Homecoming with Revival starting Sunday night. I am ready for revival! It will also be good for The FisherMan. You know, pastors don't get ministered TO very often. So it will be good to worship together.

This is short but I still have one child awake and tomorrow is fast approaching! Tonight was Family Night so they were really keyed up plus they all slept in this morning and had naps today. .....Mama didn't. :)

  1. What a great post. We're getting ready for VBS in two weeks and I'm doing crafts...it will be different then missions or a bible study class. And I'm up late since my hubby is doing an all-nighter with the youth. Blessings.

  2. Hey, Lorrie
VBS is lots of work but lots of fun! This year I taught the elementary age group Bible class and led the music for the worship rally. Bible was nothing new as that is my usual niche. The music on the other hand.... :)But I really enjoyed it all!
Catch up on your rest this weekend. Blessings.

  3. Wow, I have not attended a Revival in years, or even heard any mention of one. This place needs Revival bad. I will pray for yours.
We will be out of town, and then our military chapel will hold Bible School for the kids next week.
    God Bless.

  4. Treany,
Thank you for your prayers. It can be overwhelming when we look around and see such spiritual dryness or coldness. Revival is sorely needed in so many places in the lives of so many places!
Have a safe trip out of town and I hope Bible School goes well for your children. :)

The Season of Pregnancy (updated)

I know. I have been neglecting this blog. Horribly. That's not the only thing that has been thrown by the wayside lately! It is only for a season though. Pregnancy means you must be patient with yourself and accept that sometimes you must let things slide. That also means that you have to plan in order to conserve your energy. I know if I am going somewhere later today then I don't need to rush around and try to get a lot done in the morning. Priorities must be in order. Although the morning sickness is better it isn't totally gone at this point. Whoever named it that anyway? The main thing I have been dealing with is fatigue. My blog shows it. My laundry shows it. My house shows it. Ack, everywhere shows it! I simply do not have the energy to do the bending up and down required to truly clean up, do laundry, and the vacuuming/sweeping etc. It's quite depressing actually! So I do a little here, do a little there. I manage the necessities such as homeschooling, cooking, ...

Why the Hurry?

We are indulging in an early lunch today after having a late breakfast. I would say it is due to growth spurts but I'm not sure. Unfortunately mine tend to be outward rather than upward so I am hoping that isn't the case for Mama! :P As I went towards the kitchen to fix lunch LadyBug frantically called, "Wait, wait! Mama look at my picture!" She had worked so hard to color a kitty in a coloring book. The head was royal blue and the body orange while it sported a jaunty red bow. (Just so you Auburn fans know it...there was some Crimson Tide thrown in there, ha!) I praised her for staying in the lines while in my head I thought of how an adult would have had to made it look more real. Have you noticed that about children? The majority of young children never color a picture to look real. They use different colors all over. FlowerChild used to color pictures of people and animals with a pattern of up to 8 colors at a time! Have you ever seen a plaid horse? How about a st...

Happenings Around Here

Well, another dog lost. :( This time it wasn't a car but something more sinister...a rattlesnake. She was bitten yesterday evening and lasted about 4 1/2 hours. Poor little Chi-Chi is only about 6 pounds or so and just couldn't take the venom. LadyBug seems to be taking it the hardest among the children. Our Bassett Hound, Daisy, and Chi-Chi are the best of friends and poor Daisy has spent the day looking for her. So sad. The GuitarMan has finished his semester and is home now. I introduced him to Pilates this morning. We worked out together. Ha ha, now if that wasn't a sight I just don't know what would be! He has a new found admiration for it now though. Afterwards I cut the FisherMan's hair outside under the plum tree while the children played in the pool. He asked if there was a way we could be any more redneck. I had plenty of ideas on that if he wanted but he didn't want to take part lol. Apparently it was a rhetorical question. This week was one of apprec...
