Contented Sunday

Have you met with the Lord today? What a privilege! I am so thankful for my church family. As it was approaching time for service I just looked at my sweet children. One was snoozing away on a friend's shoulder. FlowerChild was happily playing and talking with another friend's precious baby. The baby was gazing up at her and clutching her finger in such a trusting way. What a gift to have so many people who love the Savior, also love our children and want to help point their lives to Him.

In my last post I mentioned we had a visit from my aunt and uncle. I really enjoyed seeing them but I found out today what my little ones thought of it. Our Children's Director opens Children's Church time with a bit of conversation and prayer requests followed by prayer. When she asked if anyone had done anything special this week FlowerChild's hand shot up. I wondered what she would say as you never can tell with her! She said we had a special visit from someone and went on to tell all about their visit. She and LadyBug really enjoyed it. Then when she asked for prayer requests FlowerChild wanted to thank God for giving Uncle ________and Aunt ________ a safe trip and letting them come to her house. It was so sweet!

It's been quite dreary out today but it has made for a relaxing day. I love Sunday afternoons when we can follow our normal routine. When we get home from church I cook lunch. It's the only day that I actually cook at lunchtime. After lunch we have quiet time for the rest of the afternooon until time to go back to church. It is amazing how even the baby just knows this is a day for rest. Today they haven't acted as though they felt very well so a day of rest was welcomed by all!

  2. Hey Mama Hen!
I love to rearrange so since my house doesn't provide very much of an outlet I use my blog instead LOL! But thanks I like it too.

My girls love Chicken LIttle! They talk about her all the time!

The Season of Pregnancy (updated)

I know. I have been neglecting this blog. Horribly. That's not the only thing that has been thrown by the wayside lately! It is only for a season though. Pregnancy means you must be patient with yourself and accept that sometimes you must let things slide. That also means that you have to plan in order to conserve your energy. I know if I am going somewhere later today then I don't need to rush around and try to get a lot done in the morning. Priorities must be in order. Although the morning sickness is better it isn't totally gone at this point. Whoever named it that anyway? The main thing I have been dealing with is fatigue. My blog shows it. My laundry shows it. My house shows it. Ack, everywhere shows it! I simply do not have the energy to do the bending up and down required to truly clean up, do laundry, and the vacuuming/sweeping etc. It's quite depressing actually! So I do a little here, do a little there. I manage the necessities such as homeschooling, cooking, ...

Latest on GuitarMan

I haven't made a practice of sharing photos with a full facial view on here. However the GuitarMan isn't too worried about that LOL! With many of you praying for him I thought you might like to have an idea of who he is. He is still in a lot of pain. His fingers are all black and blue and his entire hand is swollen. His hand is cut straight across his fingers and across the bottom of his hand. Once again, very obvious what could have happened. He's blown away by everyone caring and checking in him and the prayers on his behalf. He says to thank you all!

Power Bills

We lucked out last month on our power bill. We received a credit on our bill which helped tremendously. A lot of folks were shocked at how high their bills were, however. I can't blame them! Some of the figures I heard were outrageous! $500-600, one even $1200! One thing that got me was that many of these people work outside the home and their children are in school or daycare so the house stands empty all day. Not only that, but their families are much smaller so things like the washer, dryer, or stove would not be used as frequently. Shouldn't their bill be lower than ours? I think it has everyone trying to come up with ways to save on power. There are some things that are a given. Good insulation and windows go a long way towards helping lower a bill. When we first moved into our home the windows were very old. Some were cracked or even broken. The church eventually replaced them which was a huge blessing! But what were we to do in the meantime? Well, one way is to buy th...
