Good Times

Here I sit relaxing after a full weekend! I told you about our day Saturday. I thought you might like to see some pictures. Here is little LadyBug on a horse for the first time. The man helping her is the father of the friend having the birthday. Isn't she tiny?

Everyone tried to get the GuitarMan on a horse. He said, "No way, no how you will NEVER get me on a horse!" Well, everyone has a price I suppose. See, we all love that cowboy in the above picture and keep praying to see him come to the Lord. My son told him, "You come to church tomorrow and I'll ride." They shook hands on it. The GuitarMan rode the horse and Sunday morning we had a cowboy come to church! That is quite the example of creative thinking when inviting someone to church!

Sunday we had an awesome service at church. There was a poem read in memory of a lady that died from cancer. Then her mother spoke briefly thanking the church for all that was done and telling how happy her daughter was to have grown up there. The GuitarMan and a friend did a couple of duets. They sounded so good together! I hope we will be blessed with that again soon!

After church we ate lunch at a friend's. If you are a regular reader you know we are in the South. Just to show you how crazy the weather can be....Saturday morning we had 75 degree weather with severe thunderstorms and tornados. It cleared to a cloudy status by early afternoon so that we were able to enjoy being outdoors. This morning we woke up to snow! Here is a picture taken at our friend's house before lunch.

Here is the same area after lunch!

We got to watch FireProof too. My son had already watched it and loved it. Now I see why! Please, please if you haven't seen this movie take the opportunity to do so! It had so many lessons in it that provide reasons for discussion. It was very well made.

The GuitarMan got a late start heading back to school. I spoke with him tonight making sure he made it back okay. He spent a lot of time visiting this weekend and did not get a lick of homework done. So he was looking at a long night with an estimated 4 hours of Music Theory ahead of him. Although it will probably feel like a short night today! But based on what he said I have a feeling he didn't mind it a bit! Apparently it was worth the sacrifice! :o)

The Season of Pregnancy (updated)

I know. I have been neglecting this blog. Horribly. That's not the only thing that has been thrown by the wayside lately! It is only for a season though. Pregnancy means you must be patient with yourself and accept that sometimes you must let things slide. That also means that you have to plan in order to conserve your energy. I know if I am going somewhere later today then I don't need to rush around and try to get a lot done in the morning. Priorities must be in order. Although the morning sickness is better it isn't totally gone at this point. Whoever named it that anyway? The main thing I have been dealing with is fatigue. My blog shows it. My laundry shows it. My house shows it. Ack, everywhere shows it! I simply do not have the energy to do the bending up and down required to truly clean up, do laundry, and the vacuuming/sweeping etc. It's quite depressing actually! So I do a little here, do a little there. I manage the necessities such as homeschooling, cooking, ...

Latest on GuitarMan

I haven't made a practice of sharing photos with a full facial view on here. However the GuitarMan isn't too worried about that LOL! With many of you praying for him I thought you might like to have an idea of who he is. He is still in a lot of pain. His fingers are all black and blue and his entire hand is swollen. His hand is cut straight across his fingers and across the bottom of his hand. Once again, very obvious what could have happened. He's blown away by everyone caring and checking in him and the prayers on his behalf. He says to thank you all!

Power Bills

We lucked out last month on our power bill. We received a credit on our bill which helped tremendously. A lot of folks were shocked at how high their bills were, however. I can't blame them! Some of the figures I heard were outrageous! $500-600, one even $1200! One thing that got me was that many of these people work outside the home and their children are in school or daycare so the house stands empty all day. Not only that, but their families are much smaller so things like the washer, dryer, or stove would not be used as frequently. Shouldn't their bill be lower than ours? I think it has everyone trying to come up with ways to save on power. There are some things that are a given. Good insulation and windows go a long way towards helping lower a bill. When we first moved into our home the windows were very old. Some were cracked or even broken. The church eventually replaced them which was a huge blessing! But what were we to do in the meantime? Well, one way is to buy th...
