Beezy, Beezy!

Well, it was only the day before yesterday that I blogged but it feels like it has been forever! It's been so busy around here! Or as little LadyBug said today, "It's a beezy day!" as we watched the bumblebees flying all around the yard. If you are fortunate enough to be enjoying this warmer weather like us then you have probably had a beezy day yourself!

I think I had mentioned our weekend a bit in an earlier post. The GuitarMan went to the beach in an attempt to get away for a while. It wasn't all he had hoped for though. You know, sometimes when you just want to get away the stress has a way of following you! He was home by Saturday night and his early class was canceled Monday so he stayed over. He planned on leaving very early but sleep won out! It was so nice having morning coffee with him before he left! As for the rest of us, we went to the Bible Study Saturday night. We had a great time with a good discussion. We even had call-in questions! :) Sunday we were so glad to see our cowboy friend come back to church and bring friends!

We had an elderly church member break a hip Monday so the FisherMan headed to the hospital. When he got there he found another church member sick at the ER! We took care of groceries that evening so it made for a late night. Yesterday we had soccer and it was another late night. (By the way, FlowerChild got to play goalie for the first half and did a great job. She didn't allow any points!) The time change is giving me fits! I stay so sleepy and by evening I am sleepwalking. The girls, on the other hand, are grumpy throughout the day and wide awake by night time! Today we climbed up in my bed and all snuggled under the covers to do our reading and math. It was so cozy! All we needed was rain!

I have a couple of rants to share. You know, the kind of topics that make my guys shake their head and think don't get her started! LOL For now, well I have a sleeping baby in my arms. The window is open and my feet are propped up contentedly as I sit here and type one-handed. One little girl is asleep at my feet on a pallet with her caterpillar pillow while the other is curled up on the couch asleep. Can you guess which is which? :) The FisherMan is watching a movie. Something with cowboys and revenge so he's happy. Ha, testosterone you know. This is the most relaxed we've been all week. I think I'll go look for something fattening! Preferably chocolate!

  1. Curious to know which member broke a hip. It feels like we haven't been to church in ages, although it's only been a week. Chicken Little is feeling better, so we hope to be able to come Sunday. (That is if Mommy and Daddy don't get sick)

  3. Mama Hen,
Without names it was a man in the nursing home in the town where you work. Yes, we've all been missing you! Sunday AM no one was too worried because we knew you would have called if she was hospitalized. Figured it was a rough night. But come Sunday night we got concerned. Glad to hear she's doing better. :)

The Season of Pregnancy (updated)

I know. I have been neglecting this blog. Horribly. That's not the only thing that has been thrown by the wayside lately! It is only for a season though. Pregnancy means you must be patient with yourself and accept that sometimes you must let things slide. That also means that you have to plan in order to conserve your energy. I know if I am going somewhere later today then I don't need to rush around and try to get a lot done in the morning. Priorities must be in order. Although the morning sickness is better it isn't totally gone at this point. Whoever named it that anyway? The main thing I have been dealing with is fatigue. My blog shows it. My laundry shows it. My house shows it. Ack, everywhere shows it! I simply do not have the energy to do the bending up and down required to truly clean up, do laundry, and the vacuuming/sweeping etc. It's quite depressing actually! So I do a little here, do a little there. I manage the necessities such as homeschooling, cooking, ...

Latest on GuitarMan

I haven't made a practice of sharing photos with a full facial view on here. However the GuitarMan isn't too worried about that LOL! With many of you praying for him I thought you might like to have an idea of who he is. He is still in a lot of pain. His fingers are all black and blue and his entire hand is swollen. His hand is cut straight across his fingers and across the bottom of his hand. Once again, very obvious what could have happened. He's blown away by everyone caring and checking in him and the prayers on his behalf. He says to thank you all!

Power Bills

We lucked out last month on our power bill. We received a credit on our bill which helped tremendously. A lot of folks were shocked at how high their bills were, however. I can't blame them! Some of the figures I heard were outrageous! $500-600, one even $1200! One thing that got me was that many of these people work outside the home and their children are in school or daycare so the house stands empty all day. Not only that, but their families are much smaller so things like the washer, dryer, or stove would not be used as frequently. Shouldn't their bill be lower than ours? I think it has everyone trying to come up with ways to save on power. There are some things that are a given. Good insulation and windows go a long way towards helping lower a bill. When we first moved into our home the windows were very old. Some were cracked or even broken. The church eventually replaced them which was a huge blessing! But what were we to do in the meantime? Well, one way is to buy th...
