The cutest thing I've seen today is my little man waving bye-bye! Precious! He had been experimenting this week, watching his hand as he went. The last couple of days you could tell he started understanding what he was doing. Today he has waved at everybody! Of course, he is smiling when he waves. If that isn't cute enough, just wait til he starts blowing kisses!
Hope you've had a good day today. We have been having some lovely autumn weather at our house! Yet I still have the urge to get the Christmas decorations out. Normally I am one of those people who likes to get Thanksgiving completed before moving on into the Christmas festivities. But there is just something about this year that has me ready to get all of the holidays going and squeeze out all the wonder. So my house now has icicle lights hung 3/4 of the way across the front. It's a small start but still an official start! I can't wait for the holiday cooking shows on Food network and the Christmas romantic comedy movies to begin. We also did a little rearranging today along with some cleaning out. I am going through the children's things and doing away with broken toys or the things that just don't interest them. I still have a ways to go until I can check "satisfied" or "completed" on my mental list. But still, like the Christmas lights, I can ...
Hi! I took pictures of baby girl off my post this AM as hubby's not comfy with her pic being on the web. I will repost pic of just the dress & cape when I get time.
ReplyDeleteAbout sewing, there are many great beginner projects out there I have seen in fact I'm going to do some for baby girls' summer wardrobe. You can do a Google search for these or wait for me to do a post, but try "Pillowcase dress" "T-shirt dress" and Fleece jumpers. Pillowcase dress is a cute sundress out of a pillowcase, gathered elastic front/back necklines and ribbon shoulder ties. T-shirt dress takes a girls' t-shirt, cut off bottom 6 inches and adds gathered fabric at the bottom to make a cute easy dress. Fleece jumpers are easy & simple to build a winter wardrobe. Fleece and jersey(t-shirt material) are the easiest things to sew(in my opinion) as these fabrics don't fray and they don't require ironing.
I find if I keep sewing as a hobby I enjoy it more than if I force myself to depend on it for a whole wardrobe. Start with small projects that are a blessing. Try a no sew project for your girls' birthdays, a fleece blanket. I have one posted under my baby blankets. Let me know if you're interested, I'll give you instructions. You can do it! Keep it fun. Blessings!
