The cutest thing today

The cutest thing I've seen today is my little man waving bye-bye! Precious! He had been experimenting this week, watching his hand as he went. The last couple of days you could tell he started understanding what he was doing. Today he has waved at everybody! Of course, he is smiling when he waves. If that isn't cute enough, just wait til he starts blowing kisses!

Dreamin of...

Ah, warmer days! Oh, well we are in the South. We'll probably be back in the seventies by next week! For now, we'll stay in our sweats and have another cup of cocoa! And dream of a warm beach!

Random Thoughts

The GuitarMan went back to college today. *sigh* He'll be back Saturday though. He is just going to get everything moved back into his dorm room and make sure he is set to go Monday. Little LadyBug seems to be taking it particularly hard. She is such a sensitive soul anyway. The little ones simply adore their brother. He would probably find it hard to believe how quiet it is here without him! He had not registered or packed yet. So I helped him get his schedule corrected and register. Then he packed and got ready to head out. We went over to a nearby town and had an early supper with him before he left. It was really nice to spend time together. We play a game of clues a lot of times when we are gathered around the table. You'd be surprised how everyone gets in on it and just how challenging and competitive it gets. Last week The FisherMan called our oldest down in Daytona because I had him stumped. (I gave him the option of phoning a friend!) Here are the clues he eventually w...

Taming Shopping Day Chaos

Ok the kiddos are asleep and the Guitarman has gone to a late movie. The Fisherman is on the couch watching Man vs Food. If you haven't seen it I can sum it up in one word. Gluttony. But it is fun to watch when you just want to relax for a while and chill out. So I promised you grocery tips today! Well, when I was first married I could just run to the grocery store (no Wal-Mart back then! Oh, my how did we ever survive?). I did not need a list because we would hit the meat counter first. We would just get whatever was on sale and then build our meals for the week off of that throughout the store. Well, now that there are way more than just us two and prices are so outrageous I have to be a bit more precise! Maybe you are a pro at getting through the store efficiently or maybe your approach needs a little polishing. Either way here is how we do it at our house. Maybe it can help you. I always get a list together. The top half of the page is my menu for the week. For us that means Mo...

Life Around Here

Sorry for no posts for the last couple of days. The GuitarMan is off from school right now. Last week he was down in the Daytona, Florida area visiting with friends. He got back Monday night, much to the delight of his younger siblings (and his parents!) So the last couple of nights have been about catching up on some family time. Since I usually blog at night after the children are asleep that went by the wayside, but for an excellent reason! :o) Last night we cooked chicken wings and onion rings for supper. (Ha, we are making rhyme books in our homeschool time...I just realized that rhymes!) We cooked them outside in the cold. Now I know some of my readers are in much colder weather but for us it is cold! It will be in the teens by tomorrow night. Brrr! Well, I missed yesterday's chaos tip so I will give you a sneak peek. I'll be back on tonight and our tip will center on grocery shopping. For now, I have to run. The girls are having a game of Cootie at this moment, my little...

Finding Consistency

It is a lazy Sunday afternoon around here. It is cold outside and especially up on the hill at the church. It was chilly this morning when we got there. It was approaching miserable when we left! The weatherman says it is going to get colder...wonder if we could see a little snow out of it? If anything, probably ice - no fun there! Sunday afternoons mean rest at our house. The FisherMan always takes a nap. The children have quiet time where they rest or read, watch a video, play with dolls. You get the gist of it. Today during this quiet time I have been thinking on how to get my routine more organized this week. I have been working on this a little at a time. Remember I said organization would prevail in this household? Well, I think it may have arrived. It just hasn't brought all the luggage in yet! Before I got pregnant with my little one last year, I had a good routine going. All rooms were tackled everyday (pretty much). The only thing that needed some work were things like c...
