Quick Update

The GuitarMan started therapy today. It is going to be quite intense, both in time and in pain level, but his doctor is very focused on him regaining full use of his hand. So please continue to pray for him! I appreciate it! * Friends and family, there is a little more detail on the private blog.

What Must He Think of Me?

Obviously that post I mentioned never did make it around on my radar. I STILL have not remembered what it was even about! But there was a funny tonight and as soon as it happened I told The FisherMan, "Now you know that has to be blogged about!" So I have his full permission to share this! :) I've shared before how sometimes I say one thing and he hears another. Well, this one was a doozy! As I turned up the radio I said, "Oh, I absolutely love this group and their new song is fantastic!" He said, "Oh, who is it?" I SAID , " The song is Lay 'Em Down by NeedToBreathe." He HEARD , " The song is Lay 'Er Down" by NeedTo Breed. Y'all. Honestly. What must he think of me? Don't answer that. :D

N-e-e-d Ca-ff-ei-ne

Just want to say thank you to those that have been faithful to check back here even though I haven't been able to post often. We are now battling a stomach virus! FlowerChild became sick Monday night with it. So far no one else has gotten sick, praise God. I am furiously washing hands, keeping up with the extra laundry, and disinfecting everything! I was up for quite a while with her last night. Long about 4:00 am I had some very profound thoughts for the blog. It would have made such a great post. Unfortunately I can't remember a bit of it LOL! My brain is fried but hopefully I will be able to get back on today and have a little something to say. Maybe it's all those bleach fumes.....

A Recommendation

This is a totally unsolicited, unpaid review. Have you seen the reusable storage bags for sale that are supposed to keep your produce fresh longer? They are Debbie Meyer green bags and they run around $10 (for 20 bags) where I live. I had wondered for quite a while if they worked and how well. I finally took the plunge and bought some. Cornbread is very finicky but he will polish off a banana as will LadyBug so I was having trouble purchasing enough bananas for the week. We would either run out or they would go bad. I decided to give these bags a try and I am so glad I did! They work very well on the bananas. You just need to be careful to reclose them and fold the bag under each time as the directions specify. Also, if you happen to remove one and return it later, expect it to quickly ripen. We have also used them on fresh okra and fresh peppers. The bags have been excellent at keeping the produce from ripening and spoiling too quickly. So if you keep a lot of fruits and veggies aroun...

Just Chattin

I updated the private blog. :) With everything going on this week, I did not mention it but someone killed a huge rattlesnake out front this week! We had just been out there two hours before with Cornbread in the the stroller and the girls on bikes. We noticed someone stopped right at the edge of our yard and got out. They were getting a crowbar to kill it. It had crawled from our side over into the churchyard, just a few feet from our mailbox. If you are a wildlife lover, sorry if it offends you. But this was a large, dangerous snake. Anyone who frequents this road knows little ones live here, so I always appreciate them killing the snakes when they spot them. There have been quite a few killed right out front since we have lived here. Oooh, just gives me shivers to think of it! Another reason I miss having Rosie!

Ready for Boring!

Have you had a monotonous week? Same old, same old? Went to work or school or took care of the children? Did some laundry? Watched a little TV, maybe even a movie? Rejoice! Take joy in that boring routine because it means life might have been full of sameness but it was LIFE! Monday was a normal day when I got up. I was still sick but the fever was gone so I pushed and tried to get the necessities done. Went through the chore of getting the bills done, dressing the children and getting them fed, etc. All the things a normal day holds. We had a lot of errands to run so our afternoon was full. The children were cranky which made tired, headache riddled Mama cranky, too. But all that was out the window when I got the call about The GuitarMan. Since that night my mind has constantly returned to what COULD have happened and didn't because God protected him. I have said thank you over and over. It was so good to see him yesterday. He is pushing through and staying in school despite how h...

Latest on GuitarMan

I haven't made a practice of sharing photos with a full facial view on here. However the GuitarMan isn't too worried about that LOL! With many of you praying for him I thought you might like to have an idea of who he is. He is still in a lot of pain. His fingers are all black and blue and his entire hand is swollen. His hand is cut straight across his fingers and across the bottom of his hand. Once again, very obvious what could have happened. He's blown away by everyone caring and checking in him and the prayers on his behalf. He says to thank you all!
