Just want to say thank you to those that have been faithful to check back here even though I haven't been able to post often. We are now battling a stomach virus! FlowerChild became sick Monday night with it. So far no one else has gotten sick, praise God. I am furiously washing hands, keeping up with the extra laundry, and disinfecting everything! I was up for quite a while with her last night. Long about 4:00 am I had some very profound thoughts for the blog. It would have made such a great post. Unfortunately I can't remember a bit of it LOL! My brain is fried but hopefully I will be able to get back on today and have a little something to say. Maybe it's all those bleach fumes.....

A Recommendation

This is a totally unsolicited, unpaid review. Have you seen the reusable storage bags for sale that are supposed to keep your produce fresh longer? They are Debbie Meyer green bags and they run around $10 (for 20 bags) where I live. I had wondered for quite a while if they worked and how well. I finally took the plunge and bought some. Cornbread is very finicky but he will polish off a banana as will LadyBug so I was having trouble purchasing enough bananas for the week. We would either run out or they would go bad. I decided to give these bags a try and I am so glad I did! They work very well on the bananas. You just need to be careful to reclose them and fold the bag under each time as the directions specify. Also, if you happen to remove one and return it later, expect it to quickly ripen. We have also used them on fresh okra and fresh peppers. The bags have been excellent at keeping the produce from ripening and spoiling too quickly. So if you keep a lot of fruits and veggies aroun...

Just Chattin

I updated the private blog. :) With everything going on this week, I did not mention it but someone killed a huge rattlesnake out front this week! We had just been out there two hours before with Cornbread in the the stroller and the girls on bikes. We noticed someone stopped right at the edge of our yard and got out. They were getting a crowbar to kill it. It had crawled from our side over into the churchyard, just a few feet from our mailbox. If you are a wildlife lover, sorry if it offends you. But this was a large, dangerous snake. Anyone who frequents this road knows little ones live here, so I always appreciate them killing the snakes when they spot them. There have been quite a few killed right out front since we have lived here. Oooh, just gives me shivers to think of it! Another reason I miss having Rosie!

Ready for Boring!

Have you had a monotonous week? Same old, same old? Went to work or school or took care of the children? Did some laundry? Watched a little TV, maybe even a movie? Rejoice! Take joy in that boring routine because it means life might have been full of sameness but it was LIFE! Monday was a normal day when I got up. I was still sick but the fever was gone so I pushed and tried to get the necessities done. Went through the chore of getting the bills done, dressing the children and getting them fed, etc. All the things a normal day holds. We had a lot of errands to run so our afternoon was full. The children were cranky which made tired, headache riddled Mama cranky, too. But all that was out the window when I got the call about The GuitarMan. Since that night my mind has constantly returned to what COULD have happened and didn't because God protected him. I have said thank you over and over. It was so good to see him yesterday. He is pushing through and staying in school despite how h...

Latest on GuitarMan

I haven't made a practice of sharing photos with a full facial view on here. However the GuitarMan isn't too worried about that LOL! With many of you praying for him I thought you might like to have an idea of who he is. He is still in a lot of pain. His fingers are all black and blue and his entire hand is swollen. His hand is cut straight across his fingers and across the bottom of his hand. Once again, very obvious what could have happened. He's blown away by everyone caring and checking in him and the prayers on his behalf. He says to thank you all!

Tired But Strong

So, dear readers, I hope you are doing well. When I think of it, many of us are facing a trial of some sort. For some it is a health crisis. For others it is family problems. Some are without a job or barely hanging onto one. Or it may be such a barrage of worries that there are too many to even name, they are just all tangled together. As I name these things they are just off the top of my head, thinking of various friends and what they are going through right now. Regardless of what you are going through, isn't it wonderful to know that Jesus cares enough about you to take those problems on? Why is it that we can acknowledge He does yet it is so hard to then follow through and let go of the worries and concerns? It is especially hard when you feel so worn down and tired. It seems that the enemy knows this and chooses those times to attack. That is why it is important to be prepared through constant Bible study and prayer. If you wait until the storm comes and you are thrown in ...

Update On GuitarMan

He has seen the orthopedic surgeon this morning. The surgeon is calling it a miracle. He said he has never seen an injury associated with an accident like this where something wasn't missing or several major surgeries weren't required to piece everything back together. It is broken, not fractured, in 6 places. His fingers and all the bones in the palm of his hand are broken. However it is all straight and intact. No surgery will be required. He will play guitar again. It's just going to mean some time away from his beloved guitar. Please pray that he regains mobility quickly! The GuitarMan is still a freshman in college. Last week he was moved up from the Freshman to the Senior Guitar Ensemble because he is already playing to their level. I am so thankful we will see what he is able to do when he is a senior!! Thank you so much for your continued love and prayers!
