So What Have You Learned Today?

My little guy has been very busy today.

He has discovered how to open several doors.

And shut them.

Repeatedly.

He has learned to pull the chairs out from the kitchen table.

And how to climb up in them to sit down.

And how to use them to climb onto the kitchen table.

He has learned to climb to the top of the playpen where he hovers precariously, unable to get up or down.

He has learned to climb on top of the toilet. I think he has his eye on the top of the cabinet that sits above the commode.

He has learned that the pretty balls on the tree shatter into tiny pieces when you throw them.
Well, it's happened 3 times with 5 casualties so let's hope he has learned!

He has learned how to climb up in the desk chair and attempts to type or use the mouse on the computer.

He has also figured out that he can psyche us out by grabbing the ornaments on the tree, then as we are putting them back on the tree he makes a beeline for the computer.

He sat down this morning and shared LadyBug's reading lesson, imitating every sound for every letter.

So maybe tomorrow will be reading! :)

  1. I feel like this with Chicken Little. Our new thing is screaming out when we don't get our way. Oh, this tests mommy's nerves (and patience..lol). She's also learned to draw in (intentionally) spilled milk. And That the Christmas tree skirt looks better when not around the tree (surprisingly, hasn't bothered the tree itself tho). She's learned that she can go any where she'd like, and if she can't she pleads..."go da-da go". :o) Gotta love them at this stage!! Can't wait to see ya'll Saturday! Love and miss ya'll!!!

  2. Mama Hen,
Oh she's just beginning to flex her muscles when it comes to figuring out how to push her Mommy's buttons. :) I can't believe she is big enough for all that though! Love y'all too! (hope Papa Rooster is feeling better!)

  3. Thank you... I had to take off early yesterday to take him to the doctor. You he's SICK when he agrees to see a doctor (lol). I took him to the new clinic across from Wal-Mart in the BIG CITY. They said it's probably a virus. I hope he's feeling better soon. I'd hate for him to miss the birthday party tomorrow!!!

  4. Oh, I don't imagine he would miss that! :)
Everyone seems to have this junk right now. It just has to run it's course.

The Season of Pregnancy (updated)

I know. I have been neglecting this blog. Horribly. That's not the only thing that has been thrown by the wayside lately! It is only for a season though. Pregnancy means you must be patient with yourself and accept that sometimes you must let things slide. That also means that you have to plan in order to conserve your energy. I know if I am going somewhere later today then I don't need to rush around and try to get a lot done in the morning. Priorities must be in order. Although the morning sickness is better it isn't totally gone at this point. Whoever named it that anyway? The main thing I have been dealing with is fatigue. My blog shows it. My laundry shows it. My house shows it. Ack, everywhere shows it! I simply do not have the energy to do the bending up and down required to truly clean up, do laundry, and the vacuuming/sweeping etc. It's quite depressing actually! So I do a little here, do a little there. I manage the necessities such as homeschooling, cooking, ...

Happenings Around Here

Well, another dog lost. :( This time it wasn't a car but something more sinister...a rattlesnake. She was bitten yesterday evening and lasted about 4 1/2 hours. Poor little Chi-Chi is only about 6 pounds or so and just couldn't take the venom. LadyBug seems to be taking it the hardest among the children. Our Bassett Hound, Daisy, and Chi-Chi are the best of friends and poor Daisy has spent the day looking for her. So sad. The GuitarMan has finished his semester and is home now. I introduced him to Pilates this morning. We worked out together. Ha ha, now if that wasn't a sight I just don't know what would be! He has a new found admiration for it now though. Afterwards I cut the FisherMan's hair outside under the plum tree while the children played in the pool. He asked if there was a way we could be any more redneck. I had plenty of ideas on that if he wanted but he didn't want to take part lol. Apparently it was a rhetorical question. This week was one of apprec...

Praising God, Asking for Your Prayers

It is 3:15 AM here and we just got home. Tonight we got the phone call every parent fears. When I saw The GuitarMan's number pop up I figured he was calling to see if I had ordered the new Skillet CD he wanted. But instead of his voice on the other end it was his roommate's. Brakes locked up. Telephone pole. Hospital. We are praising God that he knew what to do and avoided flipping. His brakes locked up and he slid into a telephone pole. He was able to get it slowed enough so it was not a hard hit. We are praising God because none of the other passengers were hurt. Unfortunately the GuitarMan was injured. His left hand wound up pinned between the pole and his vehicle. This is not what you want to have happen to a guitarist, obviously. But at this point they are saying it is fractured in 4 or 5 places. If he had been going any faster we could have been talking devastating injuries! God is good! I am asking you to please pray over this situation. For tonight he is in a tight spli...
