Ramblings on Daily Life

From yesterday:
Just a little rambling out loud.....
We have bunches of projects going right now and nothing is completed. That leaves me feeling a bit frazzled. I am the kind that likes to get one thing done before I move on to the next. So even though I need to get the living room vacuumed I am reluctant because we are painting the kitchen cabinets. I also have a huge dishpan of fresh green beans to get put up. And potatoes that need to be washed and stored. But I really want to see the kitchen all shined up and put together before I move on to the next thing. I think maybe that is a perfectionist tendency. Or maybe I am just making excuses.

Today's ramblings....
Well, I did manage to get all the beans put up. Seven quarts! All the potatoes are finished up, too. So we will be eating a lot of beans and taters in the coming days!

Still working on the cabinets but they are coming along nicely. I have a before/after picture of the hardware to show you. It's amazing what some scrubbing and polishing will do! Hopefully it will be finished in the next day or two.

Didn't do the vacuuming. Oh, well guess what. It needed it yesterday and it needs it today. Even if I had done it then tomorrow's results would be the same. The living room would still need vacuuming!

But I did get outside with my children. I was overwhelmed with love for them as I watched them play together. There is nothing like the pure joy and innocence of children as they run and play.

Today was a great day of worshiping the Lord. We gathered with some fellow believers and had lunch at a local eating spot. It was good but Cornbread gave us a scare. He ate a bit of bread and it got stuck to the roof of his mouth, causing him to choke and gag, etc. We didn't think we would ever get it out of his mouth! What a crazy thing to happen!

While we were eating we got a call from the GuitarMan. The church he plays at has an opening for a mission trip and offered it to him. They leave tomorrow morning! So I told him that was fine....I will be getting all his clothes washed this afternoon so he can pack up and head back out. The last one was in Tennessee. This one will be in Alabama. So the same prayer request stands for him with the addition of please, no bedbugs LOL!

And that is it for my life today....nothing much, which can actually be a very good thing, ha! No news is good news, ya know?! Be blessed! :)

  1. I love your blog. It is good to hear that I'm not alone with keeping up with the vacuum. My rug is seems to always be covered in pet hair, but I'm so busy every where else. God Bless

  2. Hi Treany,
Welcome and thank you! You are definitely not alone! I never seem to catch up but I also figure that these days with my precious little ones are all too short. One day my house will be orderly and quiet. My rugs will stay clean. Unless I am blessed with granchildren close by..... :)
    Blessings to you!

The Season of Pregnancy (updated)

I know. I have been neglecting this blog. Horribly. That's not the only thing that has been thrown by the wayside lately! It is only for a season though. Pregnancy means you must be patient with yourself and accept that sometimes you must let things slide. That also means that you have to plan in order to conserve your energy. I know if I am going somewhere later today then I don't need to rush around and try to get a lot done in the morning. Priorities must be in order. Although the morning sickness is better it isn't totally gone at this point. Whoever named it that anyway? The main thing I have been dealing with is fatigue. My blog shows it. My laundry shows it. My house shows it. Ack, everywhere shows it! I simply do not have the energy to do the bending up and down required to truly clean up, do laundry, and the vacuuming/sweeping etc. It's quite depressing actually! So I do a little here, do a little there. I manage the necessities such as homeschooling, cooking, ...

Happenings Around Here

Well, another dog lost. :( This time it wasn't a car but something more sinister...a rattlesnake. She was bitten yesterday evening and lasted about 4 1/2 hours. Poor little Chi-Chi is only about 6 pounds or so and just couldn't take the venom. LadyBug seems to be taking it the hardest among the children. Our Bassett Hound, Daisy, and Chi-Chi are the best of friends and poor Daisy has spent the day looking for her. So sad. The GuitarMan has finished his semester and is home now. I introduced him to Pilates this morning. We worked out together. Ha ha, now if that wasn't a sight I just don't know what would be! He has a new found admiration for it now though. Afterwards I cut the FisherMan's hair outside under the plum tree while the children played in the pool. He asked if there was a way we could be any more redneck. I had plenty of ideas on that if he wanted but he didn't want to take part lol. Apparently it was a rhetorical question. This week was one of apprec...

Why the Hurry?

We are indulging in an early lunch today after having a late breakfast. I would say it is due to growth spurts but I'm not sure. Unfortunately mine tend to be outward rather than upward so I am hoping that isn't the case for Mama! :P As I went towards the kitchen to fix lunch LadyBug frantically called, "Wait, wait! Mama look at my picture!" She had worked so hard to color a kitty in a coloring book. The head was royal blue and the body orange while it sported a jaunty red bow. (Just so you Auburn fans know it...there was some Crimson Tide thrown in there, ha!) I praised her for staying in the lines while in my head I thought of how an adult would have had to made it look more real. Have you noticed that about children? The majority of young children never color a picture to look real. They use different colors all over. FlowerChild used to color pictures of people and animals with a pattern of up to 8 colors at a time! Have you ever seen a plaid horse? How about a st...
